ECO CONCRETE / GREEN CONCRETE

In an effort to contribute to a greener environment, Ready Mix Concrete Islington is proud to announce that we have a BCA certificate for the production and delivery of Eco-concrete.

Eco-concrete uses recycled material from copper slag and recycled granite to replace up to 50% of the natural aggregates used in the production of concrete. Copper slag is a by-product of sandblasting in shipyards, and recycled granite comes from demolition waste.

QUALITY CONTROL

Central Ready Mix Concrete Islington regularly performs tests and checks on both raw materials and concrete produced throughout the day. Regular inspections include moisture, classification, silt content and organic content of aggregate, strength of cement mortar, concrete dropping and testing of concrete blocks. The laboratory can also boast an installed mixer with a capacity of 50 liters for research and development of new concrete mixes for special applications.
